LOAVES AND FISHES MINISTRIES was founded in 1983 when a local family began distributing food to those in need from the back porch of a local church. The need increased and the distribution point transferred to a larger building two years later. The ministry expanded to include a clothing house and provided temporary shelter and hot meals to the homeless. Fourteen years later Loaves & Fishes Ministries rented a warehouse space for the distribution center and leased hotel rooms for the homeless, all the while building the present multi-purpose building housing the offices, warehouse, and homeless shelter. Now, just 24 years later Loaves & Fishes Ministries has become Fremont County's most exciting non-profit providing for the needs of our community making it a better place to live.
Loaves and Fishes Ministries is recognized as a reputable nonprofit organization demonstrating a long standing reputation of operations with integrity and compassion in our community.
We are dedicated to providing goods and services such as food, clothing, temporary shelter, employment assistance, guidance, referrals, financial assistance and other emergency services. By promoting community involvement and collaboration of resources we are a community based solution to a national problem.
Our ministry would not be possible without the volunteers who give so generously of their time and energy. Eighty percent of our daily operations is ran by our volunteers. The people who make Loaves and Fishes possible are community leaders, business owners, clergy, retirees and others that make a difference in our community through their dedication and desire.
